  I just read the wikipedia, it says it was going to release on Jan 20th in the U.S. Maybe they updated it since the time you read it, I don’t know.
  It’s cool to release it on the 20th since it’s the day of Obama’s Inauguration.

  The Ballads is actually out, I live in Singapore and i got it back in Oct 08. But there are no re-sungs at all

  While I am a huge MC fan, I’ve never been a huge fan of “Hero” itself. I think it’s way too schmaltzy, even by ‘93 Mariah standards. I do however, think her vocals sound good on the new version.

  But I really wish she would’ve chose something different besides “Hero” to resing for the “Ballads” release like maybe “Vision of Love” (which is way more powerful in a live setting and she could recreate that…youtube BET Blueprint performance if you are a doubter). I’m just disappointed w/ “Ballads” in general b/c it’s a Sony release so we don’t get anything from the Emancipation-era, but I’m glad they changed up the tracklist a bit from the international releases.

  Anyone heard about bonus tracks or goodies with the CD at like Walmart, Best Buy or anything? I know Itunes is going to be offering bonus videos.

  Plus she remade “Hero” as part of the “Never Too Far” medley from ‘01 too. Enough versions of “Hero” Mariah!

  Although I do think it was pointless to remake this song, I think Mariah did a good job on it. She doesn’t sound quite like she used to (we know that… get over it) but she sounds pretty damn good. I wonder if this new version has anything to do with the X Factor finalists having a hit in the UK with their version of the song? I’m sure she had some strange idea to re-release it for herself. I hope she has let go of that thought. I can’t see anything happening in the charts with this version.

  The album is already in cd music stores in Mexico……
