La Roux - Saviour (UK Bonus Track)

“Saviour” is a bonus UK iTunes track off of La Roux’s debut self-titled album. It basically just sounds like all of her songs combined into one to me.
Is it just me or does the instrumental/backing track sound like a production line making Lego’s? I think I’m crazy.

The Sounds - No One Sleeps When I’m Awake (Music Video)

The Sounds have finally released an amazing video for their latest single, “No One Sleeps When I’m Awake”.

Marina & The Diamonds - Numb

A new Marina & The Diamonds demo has surfaced, titled “Numb”. It sounds more choral-y than her other songs, I wonder how this is going to fit in with her other songs.

Plastiscines - Barcelona

This French-girl-rock-glam band is starting to become one of my favorites.

NYLON recently launched their own label, NYLON Records and their debut release - Paris’ Plastiscines’ About Love, is available August 4th. The French lovelies bring their stylishly sexy candy-punk to NYLON as part of a global deal the band has announced with the newly-launched label. Prior to conquering the City of Angels, the all-girl rock band won over their native France, having received a commendation in Paris last year presented by Pete Doherty, along with French Minister of Culture. But winning over their high-class home crowd was only the start. They also stormed US shores, playing to rave reviews at Coachella 2008. After writing their first international hit (”Loser“) in high school and touring the world with sold-out shows across the UK and Europe while still teenagers, it was never going to be long before Katty (vocals), Marine (guitar), Anais (drums) and Louise (bass) needed a few new continents to conquer. With their amazing personal style, raw talent, and loud, unstoppable youth, if things keep moving as they are, we’re going to have to start building bigger cities to contain these girls!

The girls are also planning to tour with Cobra Starship this summer across the US, continue reading for their tourdates and MP3 of the above video, “Barcelona”. Get the whole story »

Cobra Starship - Good Girls Go Bad (feat. Leighton Meester) (Music Video)

Looks like someone’s Gossip Girl texting/ partying skills paid off in something else.

Mr. Hudson - Supernova (feat. Kanye West) (Music Video)

Mr. Hudson completely nailed this music video for “Supernova” with Kanye West - it’s brilliant!

Shakira - Loba (She-Wolf)

Shakira’s new single has dropped! Her first track is her spanish language version titled: “Loba.” In another week she will dropp her English version of the track titled: “She-Wolf.” It’s a different sound than her previous pop/rock music in the past, and I’ve loved Shakira since I was a sophmore in high school listening to 1996’s Pies Discalzos “Estoy Aqui” in spanish class. Back then, I was amazed how her music could transcend the language barrier. I feltPies Discalzos & her second album Donde Estan Los Ladrones stood out above anything that was even out on english radio and I barely understood what she was saying! When I learned that she was going to be recording an English language album back in 2000, I told my freshman roomate She was going to be huge! I wish though she would have recorded Donde Estan Los Ladrones in English for that first album over Laundry Service, but I digress. I’m not as excited about Loba as I was the tracks on those first two albums, but its Shakira, and I know it will grow on me…though surprisingly I am really diggin’ Nelly Furtado’s new spanish single: “Manos al Aire.” Get Loba after the Jump…Holllla

Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone

Kelly Clarkson’s third single will be “Already Gone,” which is a tune she penned w/Ryan Tedder of One Republic. The video has already been shot and the song basically sounds just like Kelly singing a One Republic song, it’s pretty obvious. Enjoy!

Santigold & Lil’ Wayne - Southerngold

Terry Urban & Gold Coin have whipped up another mega mash-up mixtape using Hip-Hop’s biggest names and laying their hits over Santigold’s brilliant self-titled debut. I first heard about Terry Urban from my friend Lisa who is a Graphic Designer up in VT. She has met him a few times and told me about his mixtapes 3 years ago. Lately I can’t stop listening to this, which Santigold’s label has filed an injunction to stop. But Santigold herself has come out to support the mash-up, distancing herself from her label.
